Country of Origin: Madagascar
The Giant Day gecko is a strikingly attractive animal. They are typically a bright green with variable red markings on their backs and two red lines running from the nose to the eyes. They are endemic to Madagascar and are found in areas of tropical and subtropical forest in the northern parts of Madagascar. They will feed primarily on insects but will also eat nectar and various fruits. Giant Day geckos, as the name suggests are the largest of the day geckos, reaching a total length of 30cm and can live up to 15 years. Adult Giant day geckos may have sacs around their necks, which store calcium.
