Madagascan Ground Geckos, or Ocelot geckos are a medium terrestrial specie found in the forests of Madagascar. They are typically brown with black markings. They usually reach 4 to 6 inches in length, with males growing slightly larger than females and can live as long as 10 years.
These geckos are found on the southern side of Madagascar, primarily in forests close to coastal areas. They inhabit a range of habitats including dry grasslands, dry forest, scrub and cliffs, but are most often seen amongst leaf litter on forest floors.
Though they are ground dwelling lizards, they are able climbers and can even scale glass.
