Going On Holiday?
If you're thinking of going on holiday but are struggling to find someone to look after your animal, then why not give yourself peace of mind and let the expert staff at Reptiles Plus look after your pet?
At Reptiles Plus, we offer a reptile boarding service from £2 a day for snakes and £3 for lizards and tortoises (per animal per day). Additional animals are charged at half price, so a pair of bearded dragons will cost £4.50 per day. Included in this cost is all the food and dietary supplements your animal may need, the appropriate vivarium with all necessary equipment and daily care.
Where possible, at both stores we try to house any holiday animals off-display. If this is something that is important to you our Bournemouth Shop has a separate building, not open to the public, where we house holiday animals. Make sure you book your animal in with us at least 2 weeks prior and we will make sure your animal can be housed in our holiday building.

Service subject to availability and space. Some species cannot be housed and any animal with an illness or not feeding may be refused on the day or before. Please book a minimum of two weeks in advance to ensure that we are able to accommodate your pet. Service available at both Reptiles Plus and Reptiles Plus 2.
Advice & Care Sheets
With over 50 years collective experience in the reptile trade we have a wealth of knowledge on offer to help with any reptile related problems you may have. We are always happy to help and our advice will always be completely free, as will our Care Sheets.
With every Set-Up that we sell, we will provide you with a complimentary, tailored Care Sheet for the specific set-up, equipment and animal. We have found that the methods used to care for various reptiles are incredibly diverse with varying levels of success. Due to this, it can be very hard especially for someone new to reptile keeping, to know who to listen to and how best to care for their reptile.
In response, we have personally designed Care Sheets for several of the more commonly kept species, explaining in our opinion how best to care for these animals, based on our experience - settling some of the contradictions found in some methods.
These care sheets are written by the staff at Reptiles Plus and are how we would suggest caring for and keeping each of the following animals.

Free Snake Sexing
We offer free snake sexing to anyone who would like to find out the gender of their snake. It does involve inserting a metal under the ventral scale and down the inside of the tail. If its a boy, the rod will slide down the one of the two hemipenes, if it's a female, the rod will stop short finding only a small pocket. With that knowledge, if you would still like to know, pop your snake down to us and we can do it for you there and then.
Warning: Do not try and probe your snake yourself unless you are confident in your ability. Probing incorrectly can result in serious injury to your snake, or even death. Service only available at Reptiles Plus (Bournemouth Branch). Some restrictions on size, please phone us beforehand if you have an especially large specie of snake.
